Why should I not tell lies? Telling lies can cause much more damage than telling the truth. The truth may hurt at the time, but a lie may be remembered forever. If you tell a lie to try to cover up for something that you should not have done, you are failing to take responsibility for your own actions. Not taking responsibility is being immature. If you become known as a person that tells lies you may end up in a situation where you are telling the truth, but will not be believed. The reason will be because you are KNOWN as a person that tells lies. As a mother I will KNOW when you have been lying to me and you will have lost some of the respect that I have for you.
Once you lie enough times you will start believing your own lies, but I, and many others will be able to see through them and know not to trust what you say, A lie may get you past the moment but it will damage your character forever. It is important to be known as a person of good character. People can lie for the moment, but eventually those lies may come back to haunt them for the rest of their life.

I am bored!! If you are bored, it is your own fault. If you tell me you are bored, and want to blame me, forget it! You do not want to be mature enough to be responsible for yourself. Don't count on watching TV to keep you from being bored. Most TV programs do not require you to think. Your mind likes to be stimulated and it needs to be stimulated in a positive manner. You can be a better person than you are now. You need to be reading some books or learning something every day of your life. In this age of technology, it is important to have as much knowledge as you can possibly obtain and it is impossible to know too much. Knowledge will make you a more interesting person to be around. Don't count on others to stimulate you into learning something.
If you are a materialistic person, more knowledge will enable you to make more money and you can buy yourself more material goods. Don't count on those material goods to keep you from being a bored and unhappy person, though.

Nobody Loves me anymore! This feeling can be because of many things that may have happened. It can be the loss of a special friend or a relative. At times like this you may feel hopeless. These are the times when your religious upbringing will be of assistance to you. Do not dwell on the negative aspects of the situation, but use it as an opportunity to grow in maturity and self-respect.

Why won't you accept my excuses? It may be that your excuses are not based on rational thinking or on facts. You need to examine what you are saying and ask yourself: "If I was listening to this excuse, would I accept it?" Many times excuses are used because a person does not want to face the true facts of the situation. Making excuses can also become habit-forming. It becomes so easy to use an excuse than to face the reality of the situation.

Why should I think positive? If you think positive, positive things will happen. If you think negative, you will not be looking for the positive and will miss many chances to have positive things happen. No matter what you situation may me, I could bet that there are others out there in a situation that is much worse than yours. THINK POSITIVE, DO POSITIVE THINGS, and do not dwell on the negatives of your situation. The following book may be of assistance.

Why am I so depressed? You may be depressed because you are not happy with your life. Depression can be caused by negative thinking on your part or by associating with negative thinking people. You should try to find the cause of the depression and correct it. Maybe you need to get out and find yourself a better, more challenging job. A job can be rewarding and give you a since of accomplishment. If you can keep yourself busy with a job or with learning you will not have time to feel depressed. Just sitting around watching TV can be depressing in itself. Don't depend on others to help you end your depression. Many people commit suicide because of something that happens that will make the person feel hopeless and depressed. People need to look on the positive side of life and be strong enough to overcome life's disappointments. There may be many disappointments in a person's life, but most of them will be forgotten with time.
